Tech News | new feature in the Edge browser is RAM control
Microsoft is working on a new feature in the Edge browser that allows determining the amount of random access memory (RAM) that the browser uses.
The company will add a new settings section in the beta version of the browser that includes a slider so the user can determine the amount of random access memory (RAM) that the Edge browser can access.

This bar allows a choice between 1GB up to 16GB only on a system with 16GB of RAM. The company notes that setting a low limit may affect the speed of the browser.
It is not yet clear when Microsoft will officially ship this feature. It is only being tested in the Canary version of Edge at the moment.
The RAM slider is also available in the browser’s Essentials section, which includes a power efficiency mode for Edge.
The company had previously introduced a power/performance mode for the Edge. To optimize your browser’s RAM, CPU and battery usage.
